The image of a large, red V on the bulbous screen of my parents' old box television is my very first memory. Since I was too young to recall the details behind the memory, I don't know if I'd simply seen the advertisement for the miniseries, or if my parents watched the show, but I will never forget the image. In the following years, I watched the mini-series (and the short-lived television series that followed it) and remembered liking, but it wasn't until I watched it more recently that I was able to appreciate it's awesomeness.
Yes, I know it is a little campy, but the story still holds up and the set design and special effects are undeniable fun. If you haven't seen it, check it out. The Original Miniseries is well worth a viewing, although I can't say the same for the television series it spawned.
